Excelia continues to be featured in the prestigious QS World University Ranking by Subjects 2025, which highlights the excellence of the best higher education institutions worldwide.
Among the 1559 institutions ranked across 55 individual disciplines, Excelia is placed in the global range of 101-150 for the category "Hospitality & Leisure Management", reflecting Excelia’s research focus on tourism management, led by Alexandre SCHWOB, Associate Professor of Marketing.
The QS survey, conducted among faculty members at top universities and business schools, measures the global reputation of institutions in each field. Respondents name up to ten national institutions and thirty international ones that they consider excellent for research in the given field. The number of citations per article is also a key criterion. In addition to a minimum publication threshold, the "h-index" has been included in the ranking since 2013 to measure the productivity and impact of a researcher’s publications. This index is based on a researcher’s most cited articles and the number of citations from other publications.
Academic Reputation and Employability Reputation
The International Research Network is another index reflecting the capacity of institutions to diversify the geography of their international research network by establishing sustainable research partnerships with other higher education institutions.
Employers are asked to select up to ten national and thirty international institutions they consider excellent for graduate recruitment. They are also asked to identify institutions from which they prefer to recruit for a specific discipline.
In tourism, Excelia’s research is based on a historical academic focus contributed to by thirteen faculty members and the Tourism Management Institute (TMI), which brings together research activities through collective projects benefiting organisations.
As a natural extension of this focus in tourism, Excelia’s triple accreditation and the UNWTO.TedQual certification for the Tourism School, this entry into the QS ranking highlights the significant impact of our research in Tourism Management.
